The rats currently put out such little dps that they don't affect pvp in these plexes.

HTFU you whiny bastards. Rules change, players adapt to the new meta, pew is had.
Don't like the rats inside the plex? Fight on the outside.
Don't like mega-linked "solo" pvper's? Make friends, or move to a system with fewer of them.
Don't like defensive plexing alts? Make friends and attack a system with around the clock ops.
Don't like having to spend massive amounts of time keeping your home system safe? Don't complain about the reduced pew because theyother guy doesn't have to undock as often to defend his home turf.
Enjoy your newly found free time that you don't have to spend defensive plexing. Go on some roams. Camps some gates. Hunt some pirates. Farm it up a bit to buy your corp titan. Attack the other side's systems if you want. Whatever. Just quit whining about plex rats. You complain about the rat dps affecting pvp? You should have seen it "back in the day" - 50x worse, with e-war to boot. Suck it up you pansies!

fyi, kills are down everywhere, solo and gang. Not as great of a need to actively defend your home system as much means less pew.

IMO I think the changes mainly effected farming alts and it did not have a substantial impact on non-alt, non-farming plexers other than the kiting pvpers like condors and breachers. As for the reasons for the decrease in pvp it could be several things. But I doubt the fact that you don't need to put as many alts in empty frigates to defensive plex your home system is one of them.
My hypothesis:
1. You could be semi-afk in an offensive plex while waiting for a fight. Now you can't.
2. Not as much of a chance at getting a fight, so not as much reason to stay around and finish a plex.
3. Without the afk plexing alt "push", there is less of a chance that your side can flip a system - since you don't think you have a chance, you don't try.
